The good news is that - for now - Cadence still embeds a legacy installer with the new software, which allows you to finish the install unsuccessfully, albeit with a less shiny UI. This being done, it will still die spontaneously after having decompressed its payload and tried to launch the actual installer inside. The installer needs Mono installed, and a 64-bit prefix. Installation doesn't work out of the box.ģD view seems to make the application freeze (and need a thorough killing of its processes). Installing is trickier than up to 17.2 (see "Workarounds"), but all previous functionalities seem to be present, and those I personnaly use (zooming, (de)hilighting, Find, Visibility, Flip design) are working so far.
